This listing is for a scarce book that measures 10 by 7 inches and has 633 pages. It was limited to 400 copies and this one is number 22 signed by the editor. It is a facsimile edition for the state records and that has a 22″ x 19″ folding map in the front cover. The map has a tear with no missing area. The book shows the states proposals to build roads, develop swampland, canals, improve waterways and build a railroad. There is a copy of a letter by Thomas Jefferson thanking someone for a map. NOTE: The issue of slave labor is discussed as emancipation was needed. The state was really not in favor of what was happening and was looking for solutions to stop this practice. Slave trade abolition is discussed on pages 207-215. Also discussed was a proposed settlement back to Africa (later Liberia). Since only 400 books were printed 83 years ago no telling how many remain in private collections. This copy was part of an private collection and is in very good condition. The paper pages are thick and have the unfinished ends like on first editions. This item is in the category “Books & Magazines\Antiquarian & Collectible”. The state of South Carolina made an emission of notes in 1873 to pay the republican printing company. This is a modern Propriorty Proof printed by ABNCo in the 20th century from the original plate for various corporate purposes and program. This is the black ink impression and is so rare it is almost mythical, and was graded by. It is clean all around with sharp corners and fascinating colors. 1866 $2 State of South Carolina Currency Gem Uncirculated PMG 66 EPQ- RARE NOTE
Here is a rarity grade of the glorious and always in hign demand the magnificent State Of South Carolina. A Stunning scarcer year 1866. Note that was graded by top grading company PMG 66 EPQ GEM UNCIRCULATED. This note has a four digit serial number. The state repudiated this entire issue due to serious corruption involved in placing the order. As a result, no notes were ever issued to circulation and all are, therefore, technically remainders. It is a fantastic investment grade example of a rare and popular type. A flaming dream with deep fresh flashy ink color and blazing crisp freshness. Far more rare in this grade than others might imagine. Only one collector can own this grade rarity that serves to separate the truly great Confederate collections from the nearly great Confederate collections. Outstanding quality of both paper and ink. The bright colors against the background are an aesthetic delight. Scarce and highly sought after in the higher grades. Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing. Auctiva gets you noticed!
