This button is in good dug condition except it has a little push in the center on the front and the shank is bent. This button was dug in the South Carolina Lowcountry west of Charleston, SC 30 years ago.

Non dug Confederate Civil War South Carolina state seal volunteer militia overcoat button. The front has nice detail and an awesome uncleaned patina. The reverse has a small depressed, c. 1860, HORSTMANN & ALLIEN. With an inner ring of rays, backmark. The shank is straight. This button measures 23 mm in diameter.
